Motivational Monday: Being a Powerful Lady

"Being powerful is like being a lady.  If you have to tell people you are, you aren't." - Margaret Thatcher

There are few things that really get under my skin.  One, is when people don't give you the courtesy wave when you kindly let them merge in front of you while driving.  Another is people who clearly are trying to close the elevator as you're running to make it.  That's just bad, rude behavior! Finally, when people say "I'm usually a really nice person, but..."

Similar to forgiveness, there is no condition on how to behave.  Waking up on the "wrong side of the bed" or "having a bad day" isn't an excuse to take it out on another person, especially one you love (friend, family member, significant other). If one has to tell people that they have good manners, have a large bank account or are "really good at xyz" than they probably don't possess the high level of achievement for which they are bragging. When I was younger, I had a t-shirt that I would wear to swim meets.  It was a bright yellow and across the back in big, black, bold letters it read "Actions speak louder than words."  A simple, yet strong statement.  If you live your actions because it's how you choose to act, and not what you want others to think about you, then it truly doesn't matter what anyone else feels or believes, because in your heart of hearts, you're doing it because it's the right thing to do.  For you.

So, my strong, capable reader, live your action and make it a great Monday!
