Sometimes, well, most of the time, the hardest part is simply getting started. Here are a few tips to get us started on this year's, on 30 for 30 Fitness Challenge:
Create a vision for your health. Imagine the kind of life you want to live, where your mind, body and soul are healthy and happy. Take a moment to forget about what you're doing wrong and just envision what the best version of "healthy you" would look like.
Turn your vision into a plan. If your overall goal is to lose 10 pounds, what will you do on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to make that happen? Make smaller goals that are as specific as possible. Make them attainable. Write them down. Use wording such as, "I will ..." It's tough when you think "I'll NEVER eat sugar again, rather than "I won't eat a pint of ice cream TODAY." When you think of goals on a day by day basis, they are more manageable, which makes them more attainable.
Ask for help. One of the biggest reasons people give for not working out is time. Share your goals with your family. Ask your husband to watch the kids while you do a workout video or go to the gym. If you want support, ask for it.
Make yourself accountable. Enter 30 for 30! We are doing this together! Need more?
