We went to Florida for our post-wedding "mini-moon," where Doug's family has a condo. It's always been a nice get-a-way and something we can do seemingly without any planning. We keep an assortment of casual wear and workout clothes, as well as toiletries, shoes and other necessities there, which means very light packing whenever we go.
Doug and I went to the beach every day -- we read, napped and swam in the water. As we were getting ready to head down one morning, I grabbed my huge sun hat and beach bag from our closet (I'm a shade lover -- under the umbrella, with a hat and massive amounts of sunscreen!) and realized that it had my "Phelps" monogram stitched across the front. It was a gift from a friend, so I will always keep it, but started me thinking about new summer beach bags.
The pool/market bag I have here at home is one I purchased at Whole Foods, of all places, last year and just broke it out the other day. On a search for a new bag for Florida, these are a few of my favorites. The "Surf" pouch is perfect to hold my iPhone and some cash and could easily fit in any of the other bags. Bold colors, neon pouches and everything in between, all of these bags are perfect for a day at the beach or a walk to the farmers market.
** On a side note, I really like the pom pom bag charms and accessories that are popping up everywhere this summer **
